Barefoot Beef Jerky

So recently I have been trying to get back into shape and along with CrossFit I have been trying to eat better. One issue I had was finding a healthy snack to nibble on during the day.

To solve my problem I decided to make my own Beef Jerky.

What you'll need:
- Dehydrator ( 30$-60$)
- sharpe knife
- Meat
-spices

So if you don't already have a dehydrator you'll need to pick on up, you can grab one at Walmart for 45$, and the only thing that you need to make sure it has is a fan. A fan is important for dehydrating meat.

I used beef for my Jerky, you can use chicken, fish or turkey as well. With Chicken and Turkey you'll need to cook it first.

Step 1. First you'll have to take your meat of choice and cut it into 3mm -6mm slices. I used Stew beef as it was on sale so my Jerky will be tiny bite size pieces vs. long slices.

Step 2. Now you have to take your sliced meat and Marinate the meat in a metal bowl for 8-10hrs in the refrigerator.

My Marinate:

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 pounds lean boneless meat
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoon of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Step 3. Now that your meat has marinated for 8-10 hours you can lay it out on the dehydrator trays, make sure the meat isn't overlapping.
Step 4. Let the Jerky dry for 8-10 hours until it cracks when bent.
Step 5. Remove and enjoy

Here's the finished product, it tastes good, still need to fool around with the marinate to make it perfect.
