Vibram Five Fingers Classic

About Classic Vibram Five Fingers

The Vibram Website says:

Men's Classic - This patented FiveFingers design takes a minimalist approach to barefooting. Non-marking Vibram TC1 performance rubber soles protect your feet and provide a sure grip over a variety of terrain. A thin, abrasion-resistant stretch polyamide fabric fits low on the foot—for comfort and quick drying.

The rubber sole on the Classic is the standard, you will find it across other models such as the KSO, Flow and Sprint. I find the sole to be grippy and with the little cuts in the sole offers alittle more grip where needed. This sole is not as grippy as the new Komodo Sport sole but it is also thinner then the newer soles, so there's a trade off.

The Classic is what True Vibram Five Fingers fans hold up as the standard, with the open face of the shoe they feel it is the true minimalistic shoe and that the new VFF have moved too far from their roots, I agree to a degree but with some sports the open front doesn't work that great.
The Classic uses a elastic cord to hold the shoe snug to your foot, some people don't like the cord how it wraps around their heel and they remove the cord, I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Benifits of the Classic:
- easy to put on and take off
- easy to clean
- open concept that allows more air flow
- a nice thin sole to get feedback from the ground

Things to consider about the Classic:
- comes off easier then the KSO or newer models
- the cord that sometimes cut into your heel

CLASSIC IS BEST FOR: Fitness, After Sport, Yoga/Pilates & Travel
