Top Running Shoes 2011

I recently was looking at the Running USA’s 2011 National Runner Survey. This survey gives you a glimpse into what the everyday runners out there like and are willing to spend their money on.

According to the survey ASICS continued to lead the running shoes market with 25.8%, which actually saw a decline of about 4% from the 2009 numbers.

It is nice to see Minimalist shoe companies making a move up the survey, Vibram Five Fingers brand who have gone from almost nothing to 2.1% and Newton that grew to 2.2%

The Survey also said that the average runner purchased 3.1 pairs of running shoes and 62.3% runners spent $90 or more for their running shoes in the year, is that out of need or fetish?

  1. I'd love to see Asics come out with a minimalist shoe, especially being they are at the top of the market.
