Vibram Five Fingers have released some of their new fall line of casual shoes. Are you looking for a pair of dress toe shoes for work? If so these are the shoes for you.
From the Vibram Five Fingers Website:
Clean lines and premium materials make the men's Bormio boot a great fall casual. Built on a traditional FiveFingers Trek platform, the men's Bormio boot features a fully lined kangaroo upper and rugged EVA and performance rubber sole. Side-zip closures complete the design and make for easy on-and-off.
I have not put on a pair of the new Five Fingers Bormio so until I do give you the best review I can. The Vibram Five Fingers Bormio comes in two colors brown and black ( Whiskey Crazyhorse and Black Crazyhorse) which are made from lined kangaroo leather that comes up past your ankle, and as you can see in the photo below they have a side zipper.
If your not looking at the front of the Bormio you would think that it's any other boot, a nice soft leather that will go nicely with your dress clothes. But I'm sure you co-workers will be all a buzz when you walk into the office wearing these.
The Bormio offers one of the thickest soles in there product line at 10mm, but you'll still have your zero drop heel. The Sole also is the Trek sole which offers plenty of grip. To be honest I think that vibram could have gone with a different sole from there line-up as I see this as a primary casual shoe.
There hasn't been a Vibram Five Finger shoe on the market in the past that had a zipper on it, with a boot that passes the ankle it is the only way that this design would work. Also the Bormio also offers a lined boot that will make it more comfortable in the cooler months.
Even with the Lined side of the boots I think this boot would be prefect to use a pair on injinji socks to help keep down the smell from sweat since these will be a casual boot.
To wrap this up I think Vibram has done a great job with the Bormio, it's not too flashy that it can pass as a great casual boot, it looks pretty shape with dress clothes. But these boots are not for everyone, if you don't want to be the talk around the water cooler these are not for you and with the price at $160.00 they are very costly to be bought and worn here and there.
Can't wait till they come this Fall
