Brooks PureDrift Preview

I have been reading today about the new Brooks barefoot shoes coming out in 2013 called PureDrift. Brooks has a line on barefoot shoes under the umbrella called The Pure Project. the PureDrift will be the lightest shoe within this line weighting 5.1oz.


 The new shoe features a natural fit, light mesh upper and the ability to modify the shoe to a zero offset while maintaining surprising comfort. PureDrift will launch at retail on Jan. 1, 2013 as part of the second iteration of the PureProject line.


PureDrift Features

Backed by biomechanics research in partnership with with Prof. Dr. Gert-Peter Brüggemann and Prof. Dr. Joseph Hamill, the PureDrift features the original PureProject technologies, BioMoGo DNA, Ideal Heel and Nav Band, as well as:

• A dual toe flex located at the three functional units of the foot, allowing for increased joint articulation and a more connected feel. 
• An injected midsole to enhance flexibility and a wider forefoot that allows for foot expansion, increasing stability and giving the runner a more efficient toe off while ensuring proper alignment.
• A removable insole, so the runner can customize their experience from a 4mm offset ready to run out of the box, to a more extreme 0mm offset.
• An ultra-breathable mesh combined with a sleeker upper that gives the shoe a feather weight, near invisible, quality that delivers the ultimate connected experience.

Brooks Running In Japan

It's been a long two days back at work, The course I was away on was a Police course but not being on the streets gets you out of the "Police" mindset. The two day shifts back were rather quiet but we work Friday and Saturday nights this cycle so it should be busy.

I was reading on my lunch break today that Brooks Shoes today announced an important mile marker in their global brand growth: It will open its first Asian subsidiary, Brooks Sports K. K., in the world’s second-largest running market, Japan.

I was surprised to read that Japan was the world's second largest running market, I guess I'll have to start doing my posts in Japanese.

Brooks has barefoot running shoes, I have just not tried them yet. I hope to get a pair of Brooks Pure Barefoot Running shoes to review soon.

Desiree Davila shoe: Brooks T7 Racer

Alot of you sat glued ti the T.V as Desiree Davila almost became the first U.S female winner of the Boston Marathon. Even though she came up seconds short, Desiree Davila had the race of her life.

Desiree Davila fought to the tape to become the first American female finisher and second-place overall female finisher at the 2011 Boston Marathon. Desi clocked in at the official time of 2:22:38, an American women’s course record, making her the third fastest U.S. female marathoner of all time. Only Olympic medalists Joan Benoit Samuelson and Deena Kastor have run faster.

I know you all find that interesting but deep down, I know what you’re asking… what shoes was Desi wearing? It's the Brooks T7 Racers.

This would not be considered a true Mininalist shoe but I must say it's nice and light and is on the lower end of support.

Triathlete Chrissie Wellington also races in the T7 and calls it "an amazing shoe!" She was rocking a pair when she smashed the world record at the Ford Ironman Arizona in November.
