Vibram FiveFingers, the Pioneer of minimalistic footwear, is unveiling its first cold weather and water resistant running style, the Lontra.
“Our customers continue to make FiveFingers an integral part of their daily routine and they want to enjoy the benefits year round,” explained Tony Post, president and CEO of Vibram. “With the Lontra, we’ve addressed the challenge of wearing our footwear in cold and wet weather.”
Ideal for cold and wet weather running, trekking, and general outdoor activity, the Lontra features a water repellent laminated polyester upper with micro fleece liner for warmth and comfort. A snug fitting Neoprene heel cuff and a sewn‐in fleece footbed provide more thermal protection. Fully tapped seams and a gusset tongue ensure water resistance.
The lightly cleated 4mm performance outsole designed with Vibram® TC‐1 Dura rubber compound offers extra traction and grip on a variety of terrain. In addition, a 4mm EVA midsole provides plating protection. Other features include a reinforced urethane hook and loop closure for a secure fit and heat molded reflective surfaces for night safety. Built with all manmade materials, the style is another vegan FiveFingers option.
It is available in black/gray for men and gray/pink/black for women with an M.S.R.P. of $150.
